Tashkent, Samarkand and Bukhara’s tourism potential is presented at the International Forum of Ancient Cities in Ryazan

On August 14-18, 2019, Ryazan hosted the Second International Forum of Ancient Cities, where the tourism potential of Tashkent, Samarkand and Bukhara was also presented.
The event was attended by representatives of 54 cities from 32 countries. The program included various exhibitions, fairs, scientific-practical conferences, roundtable discussions, performances and concerts.
A platform “Travel to Uzbekistan”, which presented the national stand of the country, demonstrating the tourism potential of Tashkent, Samarkand and Bukhara, International Festival “Silk and spices”, held annually in Bukhara and Folk Applied Arts Products’ Fair, was organized on the first day of the forum. Uzbek diaspora’s creative collectives’ performances were also organized for guests.
Representatives of the State Committee for Tourism Development attended the meeting of the Association of Ancient Cities, during which presentations of tourism potential of Samarkand and Bukhara were held, videos reflecting the rich cultural heritage of the country were shown, as well as current issues on preservation of monuments of cultural-historical heritage, innovative approaches and consolidation of the world community in this area were discussed.
In addition, a meeting was held between representatives of tourism organizations of Uzbekistan and Russia, during which agreements were reached on mutual cooperation and attraction of Russian tourists to Uzbekistan.
