The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) hosted the 26th meeting of the Executive Committee of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Economic Cooperation Organization and the 17th meeting of the General Assembly.

It was attended by representatives of the Chambers of Commerce of member states of the organization – Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Pakistan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan, as well as employees of ministries and agencies responsible for tourism, transport, trade, industry and investment, business circles.
The meeting was chaired by the Republic of Turkey.

Meetings of the Women Entrepreneurs Council of the ECO Chamber of Commerce and Industry, its committees on tourism, transport, development of industry and investment, small and medium business, on trade facilitation and arbitration committee were held. Issues of development of trade and economic cooperation between the member states of the organization, strengthening regional cooperation in trade, industry and entrepreneurship were discussed.

Results of activities of the industry organization for the current year were summed up, proposals and initiatives on strengthening cooperation between the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the member states were considered.

Participants were introduced to large-scale reforms carried out in Uzbekistan for development of business, tourism, women entrepreneurship, measures taken to protect the rights and legitimate interests of foreign investors.

Views were exchanged on preparation of constituent documents of the Arbitration Center at the ECO Chamber of Commerce and Industry in order to develop ways of alternative resolution of commercial disputes.
