Experience in combating human trafficking

Tashkent hosted a presentation of the edition of “Guiding Principles on Human Rights in the Return of Trafficked Persons” collection. The presentation was timed to July 30, the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons.
The event was organized by the National Human Rights Centre of the Republic of Uzbekistan jointly with the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan and the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights. It was attended by representatives of ministries, agencies and organizations, diplomatic corps, civil society institutions and academic circles.
Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva, Director of the National Human Rights Centre Akmal Saidov, OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan John MacGregor and others noted that Uzbekistan closely cooperates with international organizations in combating human trafficking, in particular, actively participates in implementation of initiatives forwarded by the world community.
Reports were heard on the content of the collection, measures taken in Uzbekistan on combating human trafficking, national experience, and the country’s cooperation with the OSCE in this area.
