Presidents of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan hold talks

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev also met with President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon in Beijing.
The heads of state noted with deep satisfaction the positive dynamics of the Uzbek-Tajik multifaceted cooperation that in recent years reached a qualitatively new level.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Emomali Rahmon discussed specific issues in cooperation in the trade and economic, transport and communications, cultural and humanitarian spheres. Special attention was paid to boosting the bilateral trade. The sides also reviewed the implementation of agreements reached during visits at the highest level.
It was emphasized in particular that last year was historic in the evolution of Uzbek-Tajik relations, which, thanks to reciprocal state visits, rose to the level of strategic partnership.
The parties stressed that as a result of the measures undertaken, the volume of mutual commodity turnover has grown markedly, while humanitarian ties and those among the regions of the two nations are becoming increasingly stronger.
The heads of state expressed their determination to bolster the relations of friendship, good-neighborliness and strategic partnership between the two countries.
