Samarkand hosted a meeting with a delegation consisting of 32 people – representatives of 13 higher education institutions of Indonesia, such as Bali International School of Tourism, Muhammadiyah University, Jakarta, Dian Nusatra University, Bhayangkara University, Borobudur University, and others.

On the occasion of their arrival, an event was organized with participation of representatives from both sides, as well as students and faculty members of the Silk Road University. At the event, Memorandums of Cooperation were signed between the Silk Road International Tourism University and 13 higher education institutions of Indonesia.

According to the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the memorandums were signed in order to develop and strengthen relations between the universities and promote academic exchange in education, development of science and technology, strengthening human resources, as well as other areas of activity that contribute to the development of tourism between Uzbekistan and Indonesia.
