Delegation of the Russian Heroes Association led by the Chairman of the Committee on Defense of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, President of the Russian Heroes Association, Hero of Russia Vladimir Shamanov visited Samarkand on April 13. 

Members of the delegation consisting of cosmonaut pilots, accompanied by Samarkand region’s khokim E.Turdimov visited the memorial complex of the First President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov and honored his memory.

Guests were informed about construction-improvement activities and conditions created for visitors.

Then, they visited Shakhi Zinda, Khoja Doniyor monuments. Guests were impressed by history of their creation, which dates back several centuries, their preservation. 

Guests got acquainted with Mirzo Ulugbek Museum and Observatory, emphasized the incomparable contribution of the great scientist to development of world astronomical science and noted that all times it will be an urgent task to study and widely promote his heritage. 

During the visit to Samarkand, the delegation visited Registan Complex, Amir Temur Mausoleum and other cultural-historical monuments.
