Delegation led by Tanzila Narbayeva attends the sixty-third session of the Commission on the Status of Women

The sixty-third session of the Commission on the Status of Women kicked off at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, which will continue until March 22, 2019.

The event is attended by delegates of the UN member states, experts from international organizations, regional and functional branches of the Organization, representatives of human rights organizations and civil society from foreign countries.
 
The priority theme of the current session is social protection systems, access to public services and sustainable infrastructure for gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls.
 
The agenda of the session includes current issues related to social protection in Member States, ensuring access to public services, a sustainable infrastructure for gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls. Debates, roundtable discussions and other meetings will be held during the session. Issues of strengthening the role of women and the empowerment of their rights in modern society will be considered.
 
A delegation led by the Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Women’s Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva attends the 63rd session of the Commission on the Status of Women.
 
The official statement of Uzbekistan delegation in the general debate of CSW session is scheduled for March 12.
 
The program of Uzbekistan delegation envisages holding a number of bilateral meetings with foreign partners, including with the leadership of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), UN Women, leaders of international women’s organizations, as well as organizing an event within the framework of CSW session on behalf of Central Asian countries on “No one should be forgotten: social protection in Central Asia”.
