Social protection – under constant attention

The Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a meeting on further improvement of cooperation between the government of Uzbekistan and the United Nations in social protection.
First Deputy Minister of Employment and Labor Relations of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Co-chair of the working group on social protection of the United Nations Development Assistance Framework in 2016-2020 (UNDAF) Erkin Mukhitdinov, UNICEF Representative in Uzbekistan, Co-chair of UNDAF on social protection Sascha Graumann and other speakers noted that task of fully ensuring interests of all segments of the population in development of the country is of great importance.
Uzbekistan has established cooperation with UNICEF, the World Bank, International Labor Organization in retraining, improvement of professional training in accordance with the requirements of labor market, development of inclusive education, gender equality, protection of women's interests.
Results of reforms in social protection, practical steps of cooperation in 2018 were discussed at the meeting. Project plans on the assigned tasks were outlined.
