On February 17-18, Doha hosted inter-MFA consultations on expansion of the legal base of Uzbekistan – Qatar relations and its inventory, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan reports.
The delegation of the State of Qatar was headed by the Director of Asian Affairs Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar Khalid Ibrahim Abdulrahman Al-Hamar.
The parties discussed the current state of legal framework for bilateral cooperation in various fields and prospects for its expansion, exchanged information on implementation of the roadmap for developing cooperation with Qatar, including on the upcoming contacts and events for 2019.
Negotiations were also held with experts of a number of ministries and agencies of Qatar. Draft agreements in investment, transport, tax, customs, agricultural and cultural fields were discussed.
In particular, the parties agreed on draft agreements on air traffic and cooperation in the field of plant quarantine.
The delegations also agreed to develop and sign draft intergovernmental agreements on mutual protection and promotion of investments and on double taxation avoidance.
