Tashkent hosts negotiations on Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between Uzbekistan and the European Union
On February 4-7, Tashkent hosted the first round of negotiations on Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the European Union (EPCA).
Representative delegations of the parties were led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Dilshod Akhatov and Deputy Managing Director of the European External Action Service Luc Devigne.
The parties came to a common understanding on the structure of the draft Agreement and, divided into three groups, discussed in detail and constructively all the sections of the draft document, identifying possible mutually acceptable provisions.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, meetings of experts on trade section of the draft Agreement with participation of representatives of relevant ministries of Uzbekistan will continue until the end of the week.
It was decided to hold the second round of EPCA negotiations in Brussels.
