Chinese delegation of the United Nations Maritime and Continental Silk Road Cities Alliance Smart City and New Industry Committee (UNMCSR-SNC) led by the Secretary-General of the UNMCSR-SNC Jianbo Wu visited Silk Road International Tourism University.
An agreement on joint activities and a Memorandum of Understanding were signed at the meeting. The agenda of the visit included discussion of prospects for cooperation between Chinese universities and signing an agreement with a view to developing scientific and educational activities, as well as forming friendly relations.
As indicated in the document, it was concluded with the aim of deepening cooperation within the framework of implementation of the large-scale Chinese government’s “One Belt, One Road” initiative in science and education.
It is worth noting that the Chinese delegation is interested in sending about one million Chinese schoolchildren and students for studying the history, culture, art and architecture of Uzbekistan on the basis of the Silk Road International Tourism University.
In the future, it is planned to open a Chinese language center at the university, as well as a center for training guides with the Chinese language.
According to the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan, both parties have adopted bilateral agreements on close cooperation and interaction on the issues of mutual interest for achieving common goals.
