Meeting with the Ambassador of Cuba

On January 25, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba with residence in Baku, Alfredo Nieves Portuondo.
Welcoming the Ambassador after the ceremony of presentation of credentials, the Minister congratulated him on his high and responsible appointment to Uzbekistan and wished success.
At the meeting, the parties discussed the state and prospects of development of relations both bilaterally and within the framework of international organizations.
The sides noted with satisfaction the successful holding in September 2018 in Tashkent of the first round of bilateral political consultations, which allowed focusing on promising areas of development of Uzbekistan – Cuba dialogue.
The commitment of Uzbekistan and Cuba to further strengthening cooperation in political, trade-economic, investment and cultural-humanitarian fields on a mutually beneficial basis was confirmed.
Views on some issues of international politics were exchanged at the meeting.
