India and Uzbekistan are expanding innovative cooperation in agricultural and pharmaceutical sectors

The Ministry of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan took part in the 9th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2019, which was held in the city of Gandhinagar of the state of Gujarat.
As a result of the negotiations, the Minister of Innovative Development I.Abdurakhmanov, Deputy Minister of Agriculture S.Khojayev, Khokim of Andijan region Sh.Abdurakhmanov, as well as the Managing Director of Gujarat Agro Industries Corporation Ltd. K.S. Randhawa agreed to create an agro-cluster. The goal of partnership is introduction of innovative technologies, advanced agrotechnical methods in agriculture of the country.
As reported by the Press Service of the Ministry of Innovative Development, the agro-cluster will be engaged in cultivation and production of crops and fish products, processing, delivery and marketing. The agro-cluster will occupy 15-20 thousand hectares and will be located in Andijan region. The cluster method is expected to be widely used in other regions of Uzbekistan.
