The Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting with representatives of the delegation led by the Mississippi State University’s Associate Vice President for International Programs and Executive Director of the MSU International Institute Julie Jordan.
Issues of cooperation in training personnel and conducting scientific-research activities were discussed.
During the negotiations, it was noted that introduction of new investment projects plays an important role in stabilizing the ecological situation in the Aral Sea region, alleviating the effects of the environmental crisis, as well as taking into account the rational use of existing resources, contribute to improving the ecological, socio-economic condition of the territory and the living conditions of the local population.
At the same time, the need for qualified personnel to increase the efficiency of activities carried out to stabilize the ecological state on the territory of the Aral Sea was emphasized. Cooperation issues have been discussed with the International Institute at the Mississippi State University for implementing this task. In particular, prospects for joint training of qualified personnel in the sphere of ecology, as well as specialists in the study of water problems, forestry and fish farming were considered.
Specific, practical measures for establishing partnership between Tashkent State Agrarian University and the International Institute at the Mississippi State University have been identified.
