Journalists got acquainted with international experience in implementing public-private partnership mechanism
A workshop for journalists dedicated to issues of public-private partnership was held at Hyatt Regency Tashkent hotel.
The event was organized by the Agency for Development of Public-Private Partnerships under the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and Government of Switzerland.
It was attended by about 30 journalists representing news agencies, periodicals, local TV channels, radio stations and websites.
Senior Communications Officer of the International Finance Corporation Geoffrey Keele told journalists about peculiarities of development of public-private partnerships in developed countries.
At the workshop, its participants became familiar with the history of development and main types and concepts of public-private partnership, as well as learned how it differs from privatization. A separate theme of discussion was devoted to possibilities of the state in using the mechanism of public-private partnership for development of its infrastructure, medical services for the population and educational system.
