Uzbekistan to introduce a health insurance system

The Minister of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan Alisher Shadmanov met with a delegation led by the President of the National Health Insurance Service of the Republic of Korea Yong-Ik Kim.
At the meeting, special attention was paid to further development of bilateral cooperation, in particular in the sphere of medical insurance.
Alisher Shadmanov noted that in the draft Concept on development of the healthcare sector until 2025, special attention is paid to health insurance. He also emphasized that starting from 2021, a medical insurance system will be introduced in the country gradually. At the same time, the health insurance system of the Republic of Korea and its positive experience in this field will be studied.
In turn, Yong-Ik Kim noted that he was pleased with the rapid development of bilateral relations. He emphasized that the Republic of Korea ranks fourth in the world in terms of development of the national health insurance and medicine system. The country with forty years of experience in this area continues to consistently improve its system, which meets international requirements and protects the interests of all segments of the population.
Following the meeting, an agreement on mutual cooperation in implementation of health insurance system in Uzbekistan was signed between the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the National Health Insurance Service of the Republic of Korea.
