On November 1, a meeting with delegation led by the Chairman of Germany – Central Asia Parliamentary Group of German Bundestag was held at the National Human Rights Centre of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Director of the National Human Rights Centre of the Republic of Uzbekistan A.Saidov noted that national system for protection of human rights and freedoms has been established in Uzbekistan and consistent reforms are being carried out on its improvement.

Issues of implementing by Uzbekistan international human rights obligations presented at the 39th session of the UN Human Rights Council in May 2018 in Geneva, activities of public administration in preventing illegal employment of minors, new system of dialogue between government and citizens, reforms in ensuring speech and expression freedom were discussed at the meeting.

Issues of further improvement of judicial-legal system, elimination of existing shortcomings, strengthening cooperation and exchange of experience between specialists of the sphere were also discussed along with discussion of achievements in human rights protection.

At the meeting with Director of the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan V.Norov, it was noted that Uzbekistan – Germany relations in socio-political, trade-economic spheres have intensified in recent years.

The sides discussed current issues of further expansion of bilateral cooperation in science and technology, mechanical engineering, innovation, higher education and between parliaments.

On the same day, the delegation visited the Women's Committee of Uzbekistan and got acquainted with its activity on improving the role of women in society. A meeting was held with students and leadership of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.
