On October 25, 2018, Astana hosted regular inter-MFA consultations on consular issues in accordance with Cooperation Program between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2018.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, delegations of the Consular and Legal Department of the Ministry and Consular Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan discussed issues related to implementation of provisions of the Vienna Convention on consular relations of 1963, multilateral and bilateral documents on legal assistance and legal relations on civil, family and criminal cases, as well as current cooperation in providing consular-legal assistance to citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan located in the territories of both sides.

Following the consultations, final protocol was signed.

The next round of consultations will be held in Uzbekistan.
