A regular meeting of Uzbekistan – Germany intergovernmental working group on trade and investments was held in Tashkent on October 18.
It was attended by representatives of ministries, departments and companies of the two countries responsible for foreign economic relations, banking and financial sector, the sphere of investments and provision of services, trade industry, agricultural engineering, automotive, chemical, electrical engineering, construction and tourism.
The flow of investments from Germany to Uzbekistan is growing. To date, there are 147 enterprises operating in Uzbekistan, created with participation of German capital. Uzbekistan attaches priority importance to development of mutually beneficial and long-term partnership with leading companies of this country.
At the meeting, Germany’s businessmen gave high assessment to Uzbekistan’s actions on providing benefits to foreign investors. It was noted that such leading companies as MAN, Claas, Lemken, Knauf are successfully operating on production sites of Uzbekistan, and promising investment projects are being implemented with such companies as Siemens, Bosch, Viessmann, Humana and others.
Presentations were held at the event, reflecting the improvement in Uzbekistan the investment and business environment, promotion of small business and private entrepreneurship, conditions created for foreign investors in free economic zones.
