    South Korean companies are expanding investment projects in Uzbekistan

    Tashkent hosted Uzbekistan – Korea business forum.

    The event, organized in cooperation with the Ministry for Foreign Trade, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Uzbekistan, was attended by more than 150 representatives of business circles of both countries.

    Minister for Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan J.Khodjayev, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan A.Ikramov, First Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Investments L.Kudratov, Chairman of the Association for Promoting Small and Medium Business and Shingdon Resources company of the Republic of Korea Kim Yong-ku and others addressed the opening ceremony of the forum.

    Favorable investment climate created in Uzbekistan is increasingly attracting South Korean entrepreneurs. Now, more than 15 thousand South Korean small enterprises are ready to start their activities in Uzbekistan. This was reported by the Chairman of Hwaseong Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Korea. According to him, strong economic ties established between the two countries will contribute to expansion of cooperation.
     
    At the forum, participants were informed about opportunities created in free economic and small industrial zones of Uzbekistan, tax and customs benefits. Possibilities of developing joint projects in energy, agriculture, tourism, communications, financial services were discussed, presentations were made.
     
    During the forum, “Uzqurilishmateriallari” JSC offered South Korean entrepreneurs cooperation in production of sanitary ware, ceramic granite plates.
     
    Bilateral trade-economic and investment agreements were signed within the framework of the forum.
