Tashkent hosted the Uzbekistan-UAE business forum

On October 3, 2018, a Uzbekistan-UAE business forum was held in Tashkent to strengthen cooperation between the business communities of the two countries and develop bilateral trade, economic and investment ties. The event was organized by the State Committee on Investments of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
During the forum, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sukhrob Kholmurodov, Minister of Foreign Trade Jamshid Khodjaev, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Adham Ikramov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Abu Dhabi and Federation CCI of the UAE Ibrakhim Al-Mahmud, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Investments of Uzbekistan Shukhrat Vafaev, First Deputy Chairman of the State Tourism Development Committee Ulugbek Kasimhodjaev, Acting Chairman of the Board of JSC Uzbekneftegaz Bakhrom Ashrafkhanov, and Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Uzbekozikovkatholding Holding Company Azmiddin Kambarov have presented opportunities for cooperation in Uzbekistan.
The business forum was attended by 80 entrepreneurs and representatives of business communities of the two countries operating in the oil and gas, chemical, electrical, textile, as well as pharmaceutical, leather and agricultural industries. After the official part of the forum, B2B meetings were held between the participants.
The parties noted that the overall key task is to expand trade and economic cooperation and achieve sustainable growth in mutual trade, and expressed the hope that this event will further strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.
