Uzbekistan established bus traffic on five international routes

On August 28, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting on the issues of improving management in the sphere of road transport, development of international cooperation, expanding the scale of transport services.

As it is known, in accordance with the resolution of the President of March 6, 2018, the Uzbek Agency for Automobile and River Transport was reorganized. The Road Transport Infrastructure Development Program for 2018-2021 was adopted. Within the framework of its implementation, more than 50 routes for passenger transportation have been opened, 9 bus stations have been built, 82 new buses have been purchased. Bus traffic has been established along five international routes – to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
 
Existence of a number of problems hampering the development of the sphere were noted at the meeting, tasks to continue intensive reforms, provide modern transport services on inter-district and inter-city routes, between district centers and remote villages were defined.
 
Instructions were given on improving the infrastructure and system of transport services on routes between villages and cities, districts and on long-distance routes.
