The second press tour for journalists of state news agencies of the CIS countries began in the capital of the Republic of Tajikistan. It is being attended by representatives of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Armenia and Russia.

The objectives of the event are to demonstrate the tourism potential of the CIS countries, popularize the achievements in the sphere, study emerging problems and take necessary measures on their elimination.

At the opening ceremony of the press tour, the responsible representative of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Adham Mamurzoda delivered a speech and wished success to participants. Chairman of the Committee for Tourism Development under the Government of Tajikistan Numon Abdugafforzoda and others provided information on activities carried out to promote international and domestic tourism in the country. Views were exchanged on prospects of tourism, popularization of recently emerged areas such as ecological, health, excursion and hunting tourism.

Heads of the CIS member states have similar views on tourism development. The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, speaking about this, repeatedly emphasized that tourism is a strategic area, a locomotive, driving economy. As the Head of Uzbekistan noted, tourism fills life with special content. Therefore, it is necessary to pay special attention to this area, create all conditions for tourists.

At the conference, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Tourism Development Abdulaziz Akkulov presented information on large-scale work being carried out in Uzbekistan on tourism development, in particular, organizational and legal measures for attracting foreign tourists, tourism opportunities of Uzbekistan.
In the Republic of Tajikistan, much attention is also paid to development of tourism. In order to attract foreign tourists to the country, a number of customs privileges have been introduced, new tourist companies, tourist service centers, hotels, sanatoriums have been exempted from the value added tax for a period of 5 years. A simplified visa regime has been introduced for citizens of 112 countries.

Information on tourism opportunities of Tajikistan are available on the Internet in Tajik, Russian, English, German, French, Spanish, Arabic, Japanese and Chinese. Tourists from 135 countries visited Tajikistan this year.

On the initiative of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, 2018 in the country is declared as the Year of Development of Tourism and Folk Crafts. In this regard, it became a tradition to hold cultural and tourism festival “Rangorang”, international expeditions on climbing to Ismoil Somoni peak at a height of 7495 meters.

In 2018, the Republic of Tajikistan is presiding in the CIS, where all the activities envisaged in Partnership program of the Commonwealth for the current year are held.
