The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a press conference dedicated to activities being carried out on preparation for the International Forum of Maqom Art and holding it at a high level.
The forum will promote wide propaganda of unique samples of national maqom art, its careful preservation and development. However, this event, which will be held every two years, is aimed at strengthening the bonds of brotherhood and friendship between different people, expanding internationally creative cooperation, cultural and spiritual ties.
The International Forum of Maqom Art will be held on September 6-10, 2018, in Shakhrisabz.
Currently, active preparatory work is being held. An amphitheater for performances, exhibitions devoted to national customs and traditions of different regions, creative performances are being prepared.
To date, applications for participation in the forum have been received from 27 countries. Representatives from almost sixty countries are expected to attend the event.
Within the framework of a major forum, it is planned to hold a scientific-practical conference “The maqom art and its role in the world civilization”. It will be attended by musicologists, scientists-maqomists, famous artists and specialists from different countries.
