Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Ties with Foreign Countries signs a Memorandum of cooperation

The Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Ties with Foreign Countries under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan jointly with the Republican Center for Spirituality and Enlightenment organized a roundtable on “Great importance of effective advocacy and spiritual-enlightenment activities in strengthening the sense of Uzbekistan – a united family”.

Chairman of the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Ties with Foreign Countries R.Kurbanov, head of the Republican Center for Spirituality and Enlightenment A.Kodirov and others noted that development of interethnic relations, feelings of generosity and humanism, strengthening harmony and mutual respect between representatives of different nations and nationalities, fraternal feelings, education of youth in the spirit of love and devotion to the Motherland are among priority areas of the state policy.
 
The Decree of the Head of the state “On measures for further improving interethnic relations and friendly ties with foreign countries” of May 19, 2017 serves as an important legal basis for ensuring stability, peace and harmony in society.
 
Representatives of more than 130 nations and nationalities live in friendship and harmony in Uzbekistan. The activities of 138 national cultural centers, as well as 34 friendship societies, play an important role in preserving history, culture, spiritual values, customs and traditions of representatives of all nationalities living in Uzbekistan, strengthening interethnic relations and sustainable development of the state and society.
 
The need for consistent implementation of the Action Strategy on five priority areas of development of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2017-2021, further strengthening humanistic values, preservation of history, culture, spiritual values, customs and traditions, harmonization of international relations, organization of effective advocacy and spiritual-enlightenment activities in the minds of population, especially, youth were discussed at the meeting.
 
Presentations were made by specialists and scientists of the sphere. Following the event, a Memorandum of cooperation was signed between the two organizations.
