Meeting with the U.S. Principal Deputy Secretary of State

On July 27, 2018, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov met with the U.S. Principal Deputy Secretary of State John Sullivan, in Washington.
At the meeting, certain issues of Uzbekistan – American agenda were discussed in the context of implementing the agreements reached during the official visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the United States in May this year and negotiations with President Donald Trump and other leaders.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the sides exchanged views on prospects for developing cooperation in various fields, supported the initiative on holding the United States Business Week in Uzbekistan, in autumn.
Deputy Secretary of State on behalf of the U.S. administration thanked the government of Uzbekistan for the efforts on advancing the peace process in Afghanistan and supporting people of this country.
Other issues of bilateral relations were also considered at the meeting.
