On July 26, 2018, a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Slovak Republic Jan Bory was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
At the meeting, key issues of Uzbekistan – Slovakia agenda were discussed from the point of view of further development of cooperation in political, trade-economic, investment, cultural-humanitarian and other spheres.
Proposals on intensifying contacts at various levels, including inter-MFA, between the parliaments of the two countries, holding of the first meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission for Economic Cooperation were also announced at the meeting.
Mutual interest in enhancing bilateral trade, today’s volumes of which do not correspond to the potential of Uzbekistan and Slovakia was confirmed.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the sides also exchanged views on the outcomes of the ministerial meeting “Visegrad Group + Central Asia” held on February 27-28 in Budapest, as well as the date and place of the next forum.
