Discussion of cooperation issues with UNICEF

A delegation led by the UNICEF Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia Afshan Khan visits Uzbekistan.
On July 18, a meeting on cooperation with UNICEF was held at Hyatt Regency Tashkent hotel in Tashkent. Leaders of relevant ministries and agencies, deputies, representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in the country, international organizations, experts, specialists of civil society institutions attended the meeting.
Deputy Prime Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan T.Narbayeva and A.Abdukhakimov, UNICEF Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia A.Khan delivered speeches at the event.
Activities carried out in the country jointly with UNICEF, aspects that should be given attention were discussed at the meeting. The reports of ministers of health, public education, preschool education, employment and labor relations of the Republic of Uzbekistan were heard.
At the meeting, such important tasks as joint assistance to socially vulnerable families, prevention of violence, discrimination and indifference towards children, improvement of the system of training qualified personnel in social sphere were discussed in detail.
