On June 26-30, the 53rd meeting of the Interstate Council for Standardization, Metrology and Certification of the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States is held in Tashkent. 

Heads of national bodies for standardization, metrology and conformity assessment of the member states of the council took part at the meeting, organized at "Uzstandard" agency. 

The event will contribute to accelerated and harmonious integration of Uzbekistan into the system of world economy and international standardization as an equal partner. 

Every year, the International Organization for Standardization and Metrology adopts more than a thousand interstate standards, which in turn serves to create conditions for economic integration, removing technical barriers between countries. 

At the regular meeting that is being held in Tashkent it is envisaged to discuss current issues of standardization and metrology, adopt documents important for the development of the sphere. 

The meeting, which will last until June 30, creates ample opportunities for mutual exchange of experience among specialists in the direction of standardization and metrology.
