On June 13, 2018, within the framework of the visit of the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan N.Yuldashev to the Republic of Belarus, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan together with the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized a “round table” with participation of representatives of business circles of the two countries, in Minsk.
The delegation of business circles of the Republic of Uzbekistan was led by the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan A.Ikramov.
The event was attended by the Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus M.Myasnikovich, Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan N.Yuldashev, Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry V.Ulakhovich, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Belarus N.Yusupov, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan A.Ikramov, representatives of 15 departments and enterprises of Uzbekistan, as well as about 130 Belarusian companies.
The Belarusian side was represented by enterprises of petrochemical, light and food industries, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, logistics, mechanical engineering and ICT.
During his speech, the Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus M.Myasnikovich noted that “this visit will contribute to strengthening and development of Belarus – Uzbekistan multilateral relations, which have become more active in recent years.”
M.Myasnikovich urged business circles of the two countries to develop bilateral cooperation on effective science-intensive areas and projects, in the sphere of innovations, science and technology. He also called on Belarusian business circles to take part in the work of scientific and production clusters in Uzbekistan.
The Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry V.Ulakhovich noted that Belarusian enterprises are successfully working on the market of Uzbekistan, including on establishment of joint ventures. And the round table discussion is another opportunity for business to strengthen existing contacts and establish new ones.
During the round table, the prospects of the Belarusian-Uzbek trade and economic cooperation were considered, presentations of trade, economic and investment potential of the Republic of Uzbekistan were held, as well as the potential of the country in the tourism sphere was demonstrated to the participants of the event. A number of commercial contracts and agreements on cooperation between enterprises and organizations have been signed.
Following the round table, direct negotiations were held between the enterprises of the two countries in B2B format. Possibilities of cooperation in the fields of agriculture, food industry, tourism, textile and leather-shoe industry, electrical engineering, agricultural machinery, IT industries, production of building materials and others were discussed.
