The IX Plenum of the People’s Democratic Party of Uzbekistan was held in Tashkent. It was attended by members of the Central Council of the party, its factions in the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, leaders of Karakalpakstan, regional and Tashkent city councils.

Main attention at the plenum was paid to ensuring the execution of tasks identified in the President’s speech at the meeting with representatives of the chambers of the Oliy Majlis, political parties and the Ecological Movement of Uzbekistan, as well as in the Address of the Head of the state to the Oliy Majlis. 

Over the past period, members of the party faction conducted meetings in the regions where they visited more than 9 thousand houses and held conversations with 59,420 citizens for studying the real state of affairs. Activities of 259 state bodies and organizations, 624 objects of social sphere, 285 civil society institutions were studied. Meetings were held with 1,941 business entities. In general, more than 6 thousand issues were considered. 

Receptions were conducted by party councils and deputies for a direct dialogue with people, during which 10,244 issues were studied, of which 7,490 were resolved positively. 6,147 deputy requests were sent to responsible organizations. 

The party forwarded an initiative on introducing amendments and addenda to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On psychiatric assistance”. Draft laws “On heat supply”, “On the state minimum social standards”, “On the rights of persons with disabilities” were developed and discussed at the faction meetings together with relevant organizations. 

Analysis of the party’s activities for the past period has shown that there are some problems along with positive results. Thus, the belated reaction of territorial party organizations and deputy associations to urgent problems, passivity in working with youth, especially with its unorganized part, insufficient coverage in the mass media of the party’s position towards changes in the legislation, reforms implemented in the country, were criticized. 

Appropriate decisions were made on all the discussed issues.
