On February 16, 2018, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Belgium with the residence in Moscow, Jean-Arthur Rejibo. It was reported by the Press Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Minister accepted the credentials of the Ambassador and congratulated him on his appointment to the high and responsible post. 

The sides discussed the state and prospects of development of Uzbek-Belgian relations in bilateral terms, as well as in the format of Uzbekistan – EU, within the UN and other international organizations. 

The sides exchanged views on proposals of the sides on deepening interstate relations, including at the level of national parliaments, foreign affairs agencies, expansion of contacts between business circles of Uzbekistan and Belgium, developing cultural and humanitarian exchanges. 

During the discussion of the current international issues, special attention was paid to regional security issues, including preparations for the international conference on Afghanistan, which is planned to be held in Tashkent on March 26-27, 2018.
