History of formation of the Constitution

Exhibition of archival documents devoted to the history of formation of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan has started at the State Museum of History of Uzbekistan.
The exhibition is organized by the chambers of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan, “Uzarhiv” agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, “Uzbekkino” National agency, the State Museum of History of Uzbekistan.
The opening ceremony of the exhibition was attended by members of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, deputies, judges, employees of archives, professors and teachers of higher education institutions and students.
The Constitution is the foundation of all success achieved by our country, an important legal basis that determines development of our country, contributing to strengthening of its independence, ensuring peaceful and prosperous life of people.
This exhibition is especially significant as it promotes the role and importance of the Constitution in our lives, wider awareness of citizens about the history of its formation, strengthening a sense of loyalty to country in the minds of the younger generation, respecting the Constitution and laws of our country, improving their legal consciousness.
The exposition of the exhibition, organized in connection with the 25th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan, included original copies of documents on the history of our Basic Law, historical materials on the process of development of the Constitution, manuscript amendments introduced by the First President of our country Islam Karimov in the text of the draft Constitution. In addition, visitors can also get acquainted with materials on opinions and proposals on the draft Constitution sent by ministries, state committees, courts and prosecutors, writers, professors and teachers of higher education institutions, as well as people’s participation in the process of discussing the draft Basic Law. The first printed texts of our Constitution in Uzbek, Russian, English and other languages are also presented at the exhibition.
At the event, the essence and meaning of our Basic Law was discussed, a documentary film about the history of the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan was shown.
