Hydrometeorologists of the CIS shared experience

The 29th session of the Interstate Council for Hydrometeorology of the Commonwealth of Independent States was held in Tashkent.
Close cooperation of the national hydrometeorological services of the CIS countries and their partnership with international organizations helps to take objective decisions based on the most comprehensive information on weather, water and climate.
The Interstate Council on Hydrometeorology contributes to the solution of tasks of timely receipt and use of hydrometeorological information, which is necessary for forecasting hydrometeorological process, their impact on the environment, timely informing and warning of government bodies and the population, effective use in sectors of the economy of the CIS member states.
The session of the Interstate Council for Hydrometeorology was attended by representatives of the national hydrological and meteorological services of the CIS, as well as experts of the World Meteorological Organization.
The Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Uzbekistan R.Jurayev and others noted that this event became a good opportunity to discuss actual issues of cooperation between the national hydrometeorological services, improve coordination of observations in the territory of the hydrometeorological network of the CIS countries, exchange the results of scientific research.
Participants of the meeting considered a number of issues and heard reports on activities of the national hydrometeorological services of the CIS countries. In particular, the results of implementation of the Plan of measures on implementation of the Strategy of development of hydrometeorological activities of the CIS member states were presented, technical features of organization of meteorological support for flights of civil aviation were discussed, the latest scientific developments in the sphere of forecasting natural and climatic phenomena were presented. The process of organizing and conducting hydrobiological observations in water bodies, using information about space weather was also discussed.
Following the event, resolutions of the session of the Interstate Council for Hydrometeorology of the CIS were signed.
