On July 13, 2020, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Furkat Sidikov held talks with OIC Assistant Secretary General for Science and Technology Askar Musinov, via videoconference, Uzbekistan MFA reports.

Videoconferences have been held with EU representatives to discuss the supply of two mobile laboratories, as well as the needs of the Republic of Uzbekistan to restrain and struggle against COVID-19 within the framework of the project 53 of the European Union “Strengthening the National Legal Framework and Provision of Specialized Training on Bio-Safety and Bio-Security in Central Asian Countries”.

The project for “Development of Innovative Climate Resilient Technologies for Monitoring and Controlling of Water Use Efficiency and Impact of Salinization on Crop Productivity and Livelihood in Aral Sea region”, developed by the Kyoto University and the International Innovation Center for the Aral Sea Basin under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan has been selected as a new research project 2020 for SATREPS (Science and Technology Research Partnership for Sustainable Development). Uzbekistan was first selected to participate in this technical assistance program.

A year ago, on May 24, 2019, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with higher education representatives and scientists at the National University of Uzbekistan. Then he paid special attention to improving the situation of scientists and teachers, gave the order to build multi-storey buildings for them.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, getting acquainted with the construction activity in the capital of the country on January 11 this year, made recommendations on creation of Tashkent City Museum. For this purpose, the building was reconstructed near the Alley of Litterateurs and a museum was organized in it.
