2016-10-07 | Elections
The delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan headed by the Deputy Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the country, Komiljon Adilov, is taking part in the international observation of the elections to the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania due October 9 this year.
International observation of elections is one of the most transparent ways of maintaining and advancing the democracy, which serves to cement the principles of openness and transparency of the electoral process.
Earlier in 2015, the representatives of Uzbekistan participated as international observers during the municipal elections in Lithuania. In turn, members of parliament and the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Lithuania partook in the observation of parliamentary and presidential elections in our country in 2014 and 2015, respectively.
Worth noting that the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan has sent invitations to international organizations such as the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Association of World Electoral Bodies, as well as numerous representatives of foreign nations in Asia, Europe, the CIS, America and Africa to participate in the observation of the forthcoming presidential elections in Uzbekistan scheduled for December 4, 2016.
