Interim President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin on 7 October 2016.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated the President of Russia with his birthday and wished him strong health and success in his multifaceted state activities, well-being and prosperity to the Russian people. 

A personal contribution of Vladimir Putin to consolidating and developing strategic partnership and allied relations between two states is highly valued in Uzbekistan. 

Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Vladimir Putin with satisfaction underlined intensification of exchanges between the two countries at various levels on expanding mutually beneficial cooperation in trade, economic, investment, cultural, humanitarian and other fields. 

The parties also exchanged views on other issues of a bilateral nature and some international issues.
