2021-11-16 | Society
On November 15, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the presentation of projects for the development of the transport infrastructure of the city of Tashkent.
The dynamic development of the country creates favorable conditions for the growth of cities, including the capital. This, in turn, requires the development of new roads and bridges, the opening of new routes for transport.
In recent years, underground and overground metro lines have been put into operation in the city of Tashkent, which has created even more convenience for passengers. In continuation of this work, it is planned to build an underground metro line from the Buyuk Ipak Yuli station to the Tashkent Tractor Plant neighborhood, as well as to implement the second stage of the construction of the aboveground ring metro.
The relevant project proposals were considered at the presentation. Two options for laying an underground line are being worked out – through Mirzo Ulugbek Street or Buyuk Ipak Yuli Street. According to preliminary estimates, in the first case, the length of the line will be 8.6 kilometers, carrying capacity – 62 thousand passengers per day. In the second case, the length of the route will be 8 kilometers, carrying capacity – 55 thousand people per day. The construction work is expected to last 5 years. The second stage of the overground metro provides for the laying of more than 11 kilometers of overpass tracks from the Quyliq neighborhood to station No. 5 of the Sergeli branch. It is planned that the line will consist of seven stations, with a capacity of 38 thousand passengers per day.
A project was also presented to expand the overpass from Babur Street to the Tashkent International Airport named after Islam Karimov with the construction of a ring-shaped bypass bridge.
The technical and economic aspects of these projects were discussed at the event. The Head of the state gave recommendations for finalizing the projects in terms of convenience, safety and quality.
