President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Specialized Boarding School No. 9 in Termez.

The buildings of the school that were built in 1979, are outdated. Due to the small number of classes, it accommodates only 250 students.

The quality of education, on the contrary, is exemplary. The team boasts high rates of admission of graduates to universities and specialized schools.

Moreover, new housing is being built around, there are more residents, and therefore the need for school education is growing.

The President stressed that instead of this institution it is advisable to build a modern school for 1.5 thousand places. 

“It is the specialists who realize the goals that our country sets for itself. We will reach the results when we raise the authority of the teacher and direct education in the right direction. Therefore, a new National program for the repair and reconstruction of schools will be adopted in the next five years”, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.

The Head of the state talked with teachers of the school. They made proposals to improve school education and encourage teachers.

Measures for the development of the general education system in Surkhandarya region were also discussed here. It is planned to create 96 thousand additional student places in the region. For this purpose, 21 schools and new buildings in 358 schools will be built, and 116 schools will be overhauled. It is planned to organize 19 schools with in-depth study of information technology, mathematics, chemistry and biology.
