The agenda included such issues as elect the first deputy chairman of the NOC and form a commission "Women in Sports" under the Committee.
On the first issue, Rustam Shaabdurakhmanov expressed his opinion and nominated Irmatov Ravshan Sayfuddinovich for the post of first deputy chairman of the NOC, who worked as the first deputy minister of physical culture and sports and is currently the first deputy chairman of the football association of Uzbekistan. The Assembly participants unanimously supported the candidate and Ravshan Irmatov was elected to the post of the first deputy chairman of the NOC.
During the event, Bakhodir Makhsitov, First Deputy Chairman of the Weightlifting Federation Shakhrullo Makhmudov, Secretary General of the Cycling Federation Kozim Urinboykhuzhaev shared their views on Ravshan Sayfuddinovich.
“I express my deep gratitude to the Dear President and the staff of the National Olympic Committee for the trust placed in me. Until now, we have been moving towards the same goal, despite the fact that we have worked in different organizations. I am very glad that from now on we will work together to achieve common goals, for the benefit of Uzbek sports. With the Tokyo Olympics approaching, we are getting more and more worried. I hope that by uniting at the Olympics we will fulfill our mission and please our people, our government with our victories, ”Ravshan Irmatov said.

Then O. Kasymov put forward an initiative to create a commission "Women in Sports" at the NOC. As you know, today, attracting women to sports, strengthening women's health, ensuring gender equality is one of the main ideas not only of our government, but of the entire Olympic movement. The NOC Secretary General spoke about the activities of the commission and the growth in the number of women in Uzbek sports, especially in leadership positions, in particular, the increase in such ambitious and promising women as Tanzila Narbaeva, Saida Makhmudova, Iroda Tulyaganova, Elena Kun. The participants in the General Assembly also supported the initiative to establish a commission.
Afterwards, Rustam Shaabdurakhmanov shared his opinion on the issues on the agenda, as well as on preparations for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. We are facing a very responsible task. Yes, we, in Rio, have won striking victories, and this means that in Tokyo we must achieve at least such results. I would like to ask all federations and associations to provide a complete list by the end of this week, including sports equipment, drugs and all the necessary items. If possible, after major competitions and training camps, all athletes should be gathered in one centralized base, and their communication with outsiders should be reduced to a minimum. If one of them becomes infected with the coronavirus, then before the competition, he will not be able to recover. Therefore, be very careful about this issue. Our government fully supports us. Recently, together with the Agency for Youth Affairs, we created the Sports Fan Association. In the future, we plan to create professional clubs in each sport, ”said the chairman of the NOC.
Thus, the extraordinary General Assembly of the NOC has completed its work.
