At the meeting on measures to improve national statistics chaired by the head of state on June 1 this year, the issue of human resources was raised, and instructions were given to train and improve the skills of all specialists in the statistical system.

On the basis of a specific plan established by the State Committee on Statistics, a program for systematic training of employees of the Central office of the Committee and regional statistical offices was developed and approved.

Based on this schedule, online seminars were organized in June-July of this year to improve the skills of the system's employees and further improve their knowledge and capabilities in this area.

The next videoconference, organized on December 23, 2020 By the Department of organization and methodology of statistical works and summary information works, was a logical continuation of the system's capacity building. The video conference was attended by employees of the state statistics Committee and representatives of territorial statistical offices.

At the event, an exchange of views was held on the implementation of the national strategy for the development of statistics of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2020-2025, as well as issues of providing users with high-level statistical data.

At the end of the webinar, achievements and shortcomings in this area were discussed, as well as practical suggestions and recommendations of practical significance were provided to the staff of the Department of organization of statistical activities and information and summary works of territorial statistical offices.
