The President meets with Russian delegation

As part of the events occasioned to launching the Tashkent Metallurgy Plant on December 4, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation of the Russian Federation led by Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov.
The head of our state noted with deep satisfaction that the project just implemented is an example of effective cooperation between companies and banks of Uzbekistan and Russia.
The new plant is also indicative of the considerable qualitative changes observed in recent years in bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
Denis Manturov expressed sincere gratitude to the leader of Uzbekistan for the warm welcome, and conveyed greetings and best wishes of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
At the meeting, the progress in the execution of priority programs and projects was discussed, so were joint plans to enhance practical interaction.
Particular attention was paid to the preparation and promotion of cooperation projects among leading enterprises of the two countries to create high-tech industries in mechanical engineering, agro-industrial complex, pharmaceuticals, light and food industries, as well as many other sectors.
The importance of comprehensive support for industrial cooperation projects, including within the framework of the established joint Project Design Office, as well as the delivery of favorable conditions for the growth of direct investments in key sectors of the economy was emphasized.
