The Institute of Standards and Metrology of Islamic Countries (SMIIC) has adopted 3 new OIC / SMIIC standards for the Halal Supply Chain System.

SMIIC Technical Committee on Halal Supply Chain (TC 10) has prepared new OIC/SMIIC Standards in Halal supply chain management, which determines the requirements for Transportation, Warehousing and Retailing of halal products
1. OIC / SMIIC 17-1: 2020 Halal supply chain management system - Part 1: Transportation - General requirements,
2. OIC / SMIIC 17-2: 2020 Halal supply chain management system - Part 2: Warehousing - General requirements
3. OIC / SMIIC 17-3: 2020 Halal supply chain management system - Part 3: Retailing- General requirements.
Halal supply chain connects product producers to consumers. The system serves to maintain the Halal integrity of the products, goods and/or cargo, while ensuring that the products, goods and/or cargo delivered from one warehouse to another meet the Halal requirements.
