The COVID-19 pandemic has increased our dependence on the digital world, disrupted normal operation, increased confidence in business security and continuity, expanded the use of remote tools, supporting important business operations and providing services while continuing to serve customers. This underlines the need to pay more attention to the cyber threats caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
In particular, on July 2 this year, in collaboration with the international expert of ISO, Dr. Edward Humphrey, a webinar was held on the topic “Cyber Security and Information Security Management (ISO / IEC 27001)”.
The webinar was dedicated on today’s pervasive cyber threats, in particular the problems identified during the COVID-19 pandemic. Also, issues of the application of the international standard ISO / IEC 27001 “Information technology. Methods of providing protection. Information Security Systems” were considered in the context of assistance in mitigating cyber risks, solving certification problems.
Over the years, ISO / IEC has developed a set of standards to help organizations overcome such threats in order to address the underlying challenges posed by cyber threats. The COVID-19 pandemic requires the use of these standards to protect our information, systems and infrastructure. This set of standards includes the use of a control system to reduce cyber threats and consists of a set of standards known as ISO / IEC 27000.
The parties also exchanged views on the standards of the ISO / IEC 27001 family and how they can help mitigate cyber threats.
At the end of the webinar, issues related to the assessment and audit during the certification of ISO / IEC 27001 and the current status of COVID-19 were discussed.
