Today, a telephone conversation has taken place between President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbai Zheenbekov.

The heads of state started the talk with the exchange of sincere congratulations and best wishes on the occasion of the festival of spring and renewal, Navruz, traditionally celebrated widely in our region, symbolizing friendship and good neighborliness, common history, culture and customs.  

The two leaders discussed the current epidemiological situation caused by the contamination of coronavirus infection.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Sooronbai Zheenbekov emphasized the importance of continuing with close coordination and mutual support in order to effectively combat the pandemic as well as to hamper its negative impact on bilateral trade and economic ties.

The Presidents also considered current issues concerning the enhancement of Uzbek-Kyrgyz relations of strategic partnership and multifaceted cooperation, along with pressing matters in regional and international affairs.
