2020-03-17 | Economics
To date, coronavirus infection is present in over 118 countries worldwide, taking into account the international epidemic of infection, a number of measures are being taken to ensure the penetration of coronavirus into the territory of the republic, its spread and sanitary-epidemiological wellbeing of the population.
In particular, in the meeting of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan dedicated to this issue it was decided to temporarily suspend the movement of individuals and passenger vehicles at the State Border crossing points starting from March 16, 2020.
After the details of the meeting were published in the media, some citizens who are engaged in foreign economic activities are concerned that export-import goods will not cross the border.
"It is important to note that these restrictions do not apply to the goods transported by air, railway, river and freight transport, as well as foreign commercial freight."
In the border areas, the persons carrying out these carriages and their vehicles shall be duly checked and allowed to travel through the country.
The State Customs Committee is always ready to cooperate with the mass-media in publishing unbiased and objective reports on the activities of customs authorities.
