Strategy of actions: towards a new Uzbekistan

These days Berlin is introducing the international community to the effectiveness of ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan in the framework of the Strategy of Actions and plans for 2020.

On February 26, the Uzbek delegation, led by the Executive Director of the Development Strategy Center Eldor Tulyakov, has met with the Regional Director for Central Asia of the Eastern Committee of the German Economy Eduard Kinsbruner.

At the meeting, the parties discussed the essence and content of the annual Address of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Oliy Majlis, and the relevant issues he raised.

They also exchanged views on promising areas of Uzbek-German cooperation, specifically, on cooperation with regional and global trade and economic structures.

The meeting was followed by a roundtable discussion at the Center for East European and International Studies (ZOiS) ‘Towards a New Uzbekistan’. Executive Director of the Development Strategy Center made a presentation on key areas of ongoing fundamental reforms in Uzbekistan.

The delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, represented by the Director of the Development Strategy Center Eldor Tulyakov, Deputy Director of the Center for Economic Research and Reforms at the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Umid Abidkhodjaev and Head of the Center at the Institute of Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Mustafayev held separate negotiations with the Board Director of the Federal Association for Economic Development and Foreign Trade Michael Schumann, and with representatives of the Friedrich Ebert and Konrad Adenauer Foundations.

During the meetings, the parties exchanged views on a wide range of economic and political processes in Uzbekistan.
