Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov attended the extraordinary meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) of Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (Turkic Council) in Baku.
The event was attended by Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, as well as Hungary and Turkmenistan.
According to Uzbekistan MFA, main priority areas of interaction between Turkic Speaking States, such as trade and investment, transport and transit, energy and new technologies, support for small and medium-sized business, tourism, culture and education were identified at the meeting.
The growing interest in Turkic Council in the world, as evidenced by appeals received by individual countries to the Secretariat to grant them observer status was noted.
The Uzbek side welcomed decision taken at the 37th meeting of the Permanent Turkic Council on November 30, 2019 in Osh, to declare Khiva the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World this year.
