The Council’s meeting was also attended by permanent representatives of the CIS member states, leadership and senior officials of the CIS Executive Committee, representatives of the Commission for Economic Affairs at the CIS Economic Council and Moscow branch of the Commonwealth Executive Committee.

 

Permanent plenipotentiary representatives formed a draft agenda for the next meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Commonwealth of Independent States to be held on April 3, 2020 in Almaty.

 

The draft agenda includes issues related to the implementation of the Plan of multilevel inter-ministerial consultations within the framework of the Commonwealth, development of international youth cooperation, functioning of the CIS Network University, cooperation in tourism, physical education and sports, culture, security cooperation, protection of external borders, and the fight against corruption.

 

The Work Plan of the Council of Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives of the Member States of the Commonwealth under the Charter and other bodies of the Commonwealth for 2020 was considered and approved.

 

The main attention is planned to be paid to issues of forming agendas for meetings of the supreme bodies of the Commonwealth and implementation of decisions adopted at them, as well as organizing events within the framework of the 75th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945. Traditionally, work is planned on improving the activities of industry cooperation bodies in various areas, monitoring the implementation of the conceptual documents adopted within the framework of the Commonwealth.

 

The next meeting of the Council of Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives of the Member States of the Commonwealth under the charter and other bodies of the Commonwealth will be held on February 25.
