On November 26, Tashkent hosted a business forum of Uzbekistan and Tatarstan entrepreneurs within the framework of the visit of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov to Uzbekistan.
The event was attended by the heads of several ministries and agencies of Uzbekistan and Tatarstan, operating in the fields of economics, trade, investment, tourism, oil refining, metallurgy, light industry, mechanical engineering, the media, representatives of large production and business companies, business community.
Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan E. Ganiyev presented information on business environment established in the country, amenities created for foreign investors. He also noted the further strengthening of existing partnership and emphasized that over 50 projects worth over 1.5 billion USD are currently being implemented between Uzbekistan and Tatarstan.
In turn, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan R. Minnikhanov emphasized that the renewed foreign policy of Uzbekistan, actions based on specific results, contribute to a significant expansion of mutually beneficial ties with Russia, including Tatarstan.
So, in 2018, the trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Tatarstan exceeded 145 million USD. In 2017, this figure amounted to 92.6 million.
At the event, B2B meetings were held. Issues of cooperation in such areas as production of polymer pipes, refrigeration equipment, microbiological preparations used in growing plants, reagents for water purification, heat-insulating materials, diesel cars, pumps and compressor equipment, engineering, energy, infrastructure, transport and logistics were discussed.
Strategic partnership agreements aimed at further developing relations in the fields of oil and gas and chemical industries, mining and information were signed.
